Dragon Riders

History of the Riders:

The Dragon Riders were a coalition of elves and dragons formed at the end of a war between the elves and dragons to form peace and order between the elves and dragons. Humans joined later within the spell that bounded the elves and dragons that created the Dragon Riders, nearly over nine thousand years later. The role of the Riders became more than uniting the Elves and Dragons, soon their responsibility became maintaining peace throughout the land of Vroengard, and were respected and honored by the people they served. There were both male and female Riders all of whom were able to use magic.
Driven mad by the loss of his dragon from a surprised attack of Urgals, a young Rider named Orik, sought help from the Dragon Rider Council in Vroengard. He demanded the Council to give him another dragon but the Council realized that his mind was unstable from the loss of his dragon. Orik blamed the Riders for the death of his dragon and planned to destroy them all, for soon he believed that Riders became old, fat, and corrupt. Orik found an ally in a sympathetic Rider, and taught him - using dark techniques learned from a shade - to kill an Elder. Afterward, he turned on his ally and killed him. He then fled into the wild, biding his time. After a time, he met a young Rider named Morzan, and convinced him to join his cause, teaching him dark techniques Morzan left a gate open enabling Orik to sneak in, and steal a dragon hatchling, killing the original Rider in the process. Utilizing his dark arts he was able to twist the dragon's mind and make him to obey him and to believe that he is his Rider. He and Morzan, along with twelve other corrupt Riders called the Forsworn, known by the elves as the Wyrdfell, caught the Dragon Riders unawares and destroyed them, bringing an end to the peace they had established in Vroengard. Orik personally killed Vrael, head of the Riders. He also killed the rightful king of the Broddring Kingdom (King Angrenost) and took the title for himself, establishing the Empire.
After forming the empire only 12 dragon riders remained. They were the evil followers of Orik. Eventually many were all killed by a rebel group called Tronjeim. Only 4 riders remain (including orik).


The New Age of Riders:

One day a 16 year old elf named Ebrithil was walking in the forest hunting.Suddenly there was a huge explosion. When Ebrithil awoke he saw a huge blue stone in front of him. When he picked it up it started to crack. He dropped the stone and its split open. Ebrithil looked down. On the ground there was a baby dragon. It was no bigger than a puppy. He then realised that he would become a dragon rider. He took the dragon to the elven capitol city of Silthrim. The Elven queen told him that one good rider and dragon had survived the fall of the riders. His name was Osilon and his dragons name was Kirtan. he would train Ebrithil and his dragon to become a new age of riders. The first thing Ebrithil did was name his dragon. He named it Zar'roc. This means "misery" in the ancient elven language. He started training to become a rider. He trained for 1 year. then his master was killed in a fight with an evil dragon and his rider. By this time though, Ebrithil new enough to train a new age of riders.
